Let me first explain my little boy (Cael)...
I am the mother of one three year old boy. When he was born I immediately began teaching him American Sign Language (ASL). I took some courses in college and had researched the benefits of teaching infants sign language and decided that I really wanted my little boy to know this beautiful language. It was wonderful when he was tiny; we could understand what he wanted (drink, food, more, milk) and he could use manners (please, thank you, sorry) before he ever turned one! It was great. Then we noticed that he wasn't speaking much. At first, we were concerned and the nurses and doctors in his pediatricians office seemed concerned, as well. He could still communicate with us but, his verbal skills seemed to be delayed. Then, one glorious day, he started talking. He hasn't stopped yet and the things that come out of his mouth are hysterical! I never know what his mind will come up with next and it's usually something I would never expect a three year old to say. We teach him new words all the time to see what he can retain and I continue to teach him new signs all the time.
Now to explain the blog...
When he started speaking I wanted to share some of his thoughts (since I always found them to be so funny). I started posting them as my status on Facebook. Soon, I had friends and family urging me to write a book or start a blog...this is the result of that urging. I hope that who ever reads this blog is as entertained by my little man as I am. Thank you for reading and, again, we hope that we can bring a laugh to your heart and a smile to your face!
